Cisco recently hosted, in its offices in Dubai, “Girls in Technology” annual event with the aim of deepening the knowledge of young students in the technical sectors through direct interaction with those calling for studying their various specializations. The event was supervised and directed by a group of Cisco executives to encourage young women to choose educational and professional paths in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
The “Girls in Technology” event was held in partnership with the UN-sponsored International Girls ’Day in the Field of Information Technology, during which 32 girls between the ages of 13 and 15 years from James and Fortis Education Schools and the Jumeirah English Speaking School in Dubai enjoyed educational opportunities and gained valuable information through interaction and discussion. With Cisco technology experts as they engage in a range of workshops and interactive dialogues and watch presentations, they are followed by a tour of the Cisco Innovation and Experience Center to explore the company’s digital innovations and see the benefits of business collaboration tools that you develop.
The event lasted one day and included a meeting with a group of women leaders working in various positions in Cisco, to provide practical models for girls about the various opportunities available to them in the technology sector. The event also included a series of hands-on workshops on the robotics industry and solving challenges to help students prepare for their careers.
